Niederlauer. Megasat is launching the next generation of its satellite antennas, including the Campingman Portable 3. While the actual antenna remains largely unchanged, Megasat has come up with something new for its operation: The completely new control unit has a Bluetooth® module, which allows it to be connected and controlled using the user's smartphone or tablet. "We have repeatedly received requests from campers to equip the control units with a remote control because many of them do not place the devices visibly in the vehicle. Since almost everyone now owns a smartphone or tablet, it was obvious to implement remote control via a Bluetooth® interface," explains Harald Langer, Sales Manager Camping at Megasat.

In the future, campers will be able to point the Campingman Portable 3 to the desired satellite via smartphone or tablet, Megasat has developed an app for iOS and Android. But not only the antenna control is app-controlled, Firmware updates can also be easily uploaded via the app. Previously, a computer and a USB stick were required for this, but in future a command via the app will be sufficient.

Campingman Portable 3 with proven technology

Thanks to its compact design, setting up the Campingman Portable 3 is child's play: Simply position the antenna with a clear view of the satellite, connect the coaxial cable - that's it. With the help of the new control unit and the app control, the satellite search is still fully automatic; ten satellites are already programmed at the factory. The integrated Auto-Skew system enables the correct polarization setting of LNBs and thus guarantees first-class reception at all locations in Europe.

The antenna is well protected against external damage and weather influences by an elegant plastic cover. The Campingman Portable 3 has a twin connection, so it offers television pleasure for two participants. The market launch is planned for January 2021, the price is 999,- Euro.
