Niederlauer. Just over a year ago, Megasat presented the Traveller-Man satellite antenna at the Caravan Salon as one of several new products. The device, which is permanently mounted on the vehicle roof, quickly became a bestseller and has since impressed with its extremely low installation height and high reception performance. Now, Megasat has introduced a mobile kit for the antenna, which has been renamed the Traveller-Man 2. Thanks to this option, even more campers are likely to opt for this model in the future. "With the new mobile kit, users can use the Traveller-Man 2 very flexibly, as it can be mounted on the vehicle or used as a mobile reception unit," explains Harald Langer, Head of Camping Sales at Megasat.
Connecting the antenna and control unit via coaxial cable is sufficient
The mobile kit for mobile use consists of four robust aluminum feet and a mounting plate that simply screws under the base plate of the Traveller-Man 2. The connection to the control unit is made via a ten-meter coaxial cable, which is included with the antenna. This allows the camper to position the antenna in the optimal position for the satellite while the vehicle can be parked in the shade under trees. A thick rubber coating on the underside of the feet ensures secure stability on smooth surfaces.
On the technical side, the Traveller-Man 2 remains unchanged. The antenna only requires a connection to the control unit via the included coaxial cable. The fully automatic antenna then finds one of the ten factory-programmed satellites at the touch of a button. The integrated auto-skew system enables correct polarization adjustment of the LNB. The further the camper moves away from Central Europe, the more the LNB must be rotated to compensate for the earth's curvature and continue to receive the satellite signal at full level. This guarantees first-class reception at all locations in Europe.
The Traveller-Man 2 is equipped with two connections, delivering razor-sharp images to two receivers. When permanently mounted, the extremely flat installation height of just 14,5 centimeters barely impacts the overall height of the vehicle. And thanks to its small swivel range of just 83 centimeters, the Traveller-Man 2 fits on almost any motorhome or caravan. The price remains unchanged at €1.199.
The mobile kit not only makes the Traveller-Man 2 mobile, it is also suitable for the Caravanman Kompakt 2. The attachment is done in the same way as with the Traveller-Man 2. The price for the mobile kit: 99,90 euros.
