Niederlauer. Just over a year ago, Megasat had the satellite antenna Traveller-Man presented at the Caravan Salon as one of several novelties. The device for fixed mounting on the vehicle roof quickly became a bestseller and has since been convincing with its extremely low installation height and high reception performance. Now Megasat has a mobile kit for the in Traveller-Man 2 renamed antenna introduced. Thanks to this option, even more campers are likely to opt for this model in the future. "With the new mobile kit, users can Traveller-Man 2 can be used very flexibly, because it can be mounted on the vehicle as well as used as a mobile reception unit," explains Harald Langer, Sales Manager Camping at Megasat.
Connection of antenna and control unit via coaxial cable is sufficient
The mobile kit for mobile use consists of four robust aluminium feet and a mounting plate that is simply screwed under the base plate of the Traveller-Man2. The connection to the control unit is made via a ten meter long coaxial cable, which is included in the delivery of the antenna. This allows the camper to set up the antenna in an optimal position in relation to the satellite, while the vehicle can be parked in the shade under trees. A thick rubber coating on the underside of the feet ensures a secure stand on smooth surfaces.
On the technical side the Traveller-Man2 remains unchanged. The antenna only requires a connection to the control unit via the supplied coaxial cable. Afterwards, the fully automatic antenna finds one of the ten factory-programmed satellites at the push of a button. The integrated Auto-Skew-system allows a correct polarization adjustment of the LNBs. Because the further the camper is from Central Europe, the more the LNB has to be turned to compensate for the curvature of the earth and to continue receiving the satellite signal at full level. This guarantees first-class reception at all locations in Europe.
The Traveller-Man 2 is equipped with two connectors, so it delivers razor-sharp Picturesimages to two receivers. For fixed installation, the extremely flat body height of just 14.5 centimetres hardly affects the overall height of the vehicle. And thanks to the small swivel range of only 83 centimetres, the Traveller-Man 2 on almost every motorhome or caravan place. The price remains unchanged at 1,199 euros.
